Artifact: YOUmedia User Manual
This is a user manual I created as part of my final project for LIS451, Introduction to Networking Systems. I wrote it after visiting the YOUmedia teen center at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago, where I learned about all the different computer programs and technologies available for the teens to use.
Reflection
What I learned from this experience is how important it is to be aware of all available technologies to include in instruction and to evaluate which ones would be most appropriate for students to use on a project-by-project basis. If I were to create a user manual like this for my school's library in the future, I would expand on everything I included in this example so that students know exactly how to use the software and technology resources. In fact, I would create a separate user manual for each program and device listed, not just an overview of what is available for use.
