Reflection
In the future I will use this Future File for a unit on cultural diversity because storytelling is a great way to introduce students to unfamiliar cultures. Stories transport listeners to other countries using words and imagery to help understand the diverse world we live in. I think it’s important when doing units like these to make sure everyone feels represented, so I will invite students, if they’re comfortable, to share their own cultural backgrounds so we can find folk and fairy tales to use from countries and cultures beyond the list I've already created here. To make the storytelling event even more enticing, I would bring in foods and/or invite kids and parents to bring in foods that represent their cultures, so everyone can enjoy a tasty treat as they listen to different stories from around the world.
